black white & gray compositions

These three compositions add more interest and definition to the gestalt principles displayed.


  • The leftmost design displays continuation with the pattern of white triangles moving across the page. The light and dark gray triangles help show this movement by outlining and following the flow going from top left to bottom right.

  • The center composition displays closure with the initial "black circle" surrounded by white shapes, but now in more spaces. The three gray strips in the center create closure for another black circle in the center of the page. And again, the open edges of he strips create closure for more, smaller circles.

  • The last image represents simultaneous figure/ground between the black and white, but now also between the two shades of gray.
